Our school

Sarina State School was established in 1897 known as Plane Creek Provisional School, later changing its name to Sarina State School in 1911. In 1956, a secondary department was established which was maintained until the end of 1964 after which a separate High School was established.

Today, Sarina State School incorporates the Sarina Special Education Program as an integral part of the school and provides continuing education from prep to year 6. Our school is the major centre for the surrounding areas of Armstrong Beach, Freshwater Point and farming surrounds, however many students live in town. As of 2016 we are an Enrolment Managed School due to the growing popularity of the schools programs and the growing Sarina population.

Our students transition to Sarina State High School, with state of the art facilities and educational offerings.  We have a strong partnership arrangement with the High School and students seamlessly move from one campus to the next.
