Dear Parents, Carers, Future Parents and Community Members,
Welcome to the Sarina State School!
Sarina State School has a long history of serving the community with academic and sporting success. Originally the school was the site of a P-12 school, until in the 1960's the school was separated and the High School was moved to it's current location. That gives out school it's unique feel of older and more modern buildings.
We are extremely fortunate to be a well-resourced school with a large library, 2 computer labs, and a sensory gym at the school. There is also a Special Education Unit.
All classrooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with Interactive Whiteboards and we have invested heavily in ICT resources with class sets of iPads being introduced into classrooms. Our students also enjoy an impressive sports hall.
At Sarina State School we believe in quality teaching instruction in all classroom and our students are taught the Australian Curriculum through Explicit Instruction and Consolidation Lessons on a daily basis. We have also introduced internationally renowned whole-school Literacy and Numeracy programs to support the learning of our students.
Our Explicit Improvement Agenda for 2018 focuses on five major areas that all staff are working tirelessly to ensure the best educational outcomes for our students are being pursued in the following focus areas:
- Students Behaviour
- Community Engagement
