The curriculum allows the students to develop and improve their skills in a variety of physical movements and techniques, build their confidence and communication in team games, and encourage them to adopt a positive attitude towards a healthy, active lifestyle.
Sports facilities
Our sporting facilities include a grass oval with a cricket pitch, two tennis courts and a very large sports hall.
Representative opportunities for talented students
We offer an extensive range of opportunities for talented students to excel and specialise in a particular sport. These sports include: Rugby league, Touch football, AFL, Netball, Cricket, Soccer, Basketball, Golf, Cross country, Athletics, Hockey, Softball, Tennis and Swimming.
Team competitions
Dedicated and well-behaved students are given the opportunity to be involved in team competitions to represent Sarina State School in sports such as rugby league, AFL and netball.
Athletics carnival
Our yearly athletics carnival is held usually in term two and is one of the highlights of the year for our students and parents. Not only do our students get to ‘have-a-go’ in all of the track and field events but this is also a fantastic day for the students to demonstrate great sportsmanship and team building skills. Our sports captains play a big role on this day as they are expected to organise their team war cries and be supportive and encouraging to all the students in their sporting house.
